FAQ's from UVa Jews
Will you be having Passover Sederim this year? Of course. Last year we had 106 people turn out for an inspirational (but not too long) homey feel Seder the first night. The 2nd night is always more intimate and less crowded.  Next week we'll send out a link to sign up. They'll be at the Cavalier Inn on Emmett & Ivy this year. Join us, Join us, Join us. If you can't be at your real home, Chabad is the next best thing!

1. Shabbat Unplugged! --We have no idea what that actually means but since we are the trendiest Hasidic group around we thought we'd just throw it in the mix. Unplug yourself for an hour or two Friday evening and recharge your batteries. Safe from the real "college" world Chabad House is a sanctuary free from competition, politics, and contention (hopefully:)

FAQ's from UVa Jews
Rabbi Shlomo used to call me all the time to bother...I mean to ask me to come to things. Even though I usually ignored him now I'm hurt that I haven't heard from him in a while. What's up with that?
There would be no greater pleausure the Rabbi would have then to sit on his phone all day everyday and bother....or rather encourage students to come. However, with a list of over 500 students (Thank G-d), 4 classes a week to teach, 4 small kids,  and a very large Chabad House budget to raise all on his own--time seems to run away. So rest assured we're calling you personally in our hearts and minds and praying you'll hear it, answer it, and come!

AMERICAN FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE- Rabbi Shlomo will be sworn in Friday morning at the local courthouse as a US CITIZEN! After eight years of waiting his ticket is up. Help us celebrate that night by sharing a home-cooked Shabbat dinner with coleslaw, fried (ok oven-baked--we're Jews right?) chicken, baked beans, mashed taters, and some apple pie a la mode for dessert. Hear the Rabbi deliver a moving speech (short we promise) relating his citizenship to this weeks Torah portion!

Is G-d in Heaven?

People imagine that since G-d is not physical, therefore He must be in heaven. But the heavens -- and all things spiritual -- are just as much creations as the earth. Less dissonant, more harmonious, more lucid -- but finite realms nonetheless.

G-d is not found due to the capacity of a place, but by His desire to be there. And what He desires most is to be found in the work of our hands, fixing up His world.

In the heavens is G-d's light. In the work of our hands dwells G-d Himself, the source of all light.
