Dear Parents,

Sending your child off to college is an exciting milestone — full of new experiences, independence, and opportunities for growth. For Jewish students, it’s also a meaningful time to explore their identity and strengthen their connection to Jewish life — on campus and beyond.

At Chabad at UVA, we’re here to be your student’s Jewish home away from home — offering warmth, support, and community in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment.

We operate out of two vibrant spaces:

  • Chabad on the Corner, right next to Grit Coffee, is our weekday hub — open daily for drop-ins, learning, socializing, and events like Cafe Chabad.

  • Chabad House, just a 5-minute walk from the first-year dorms, is where we host our weekly Shabbat dinners — full of homemade food, joyful singing, deep conversation, and a true sense of belonging.

Whether your child is deeply engaged in Jewish life or just beginning to explore, they’ll find a space where they’re welcomed, valued, and supported.

And as parents, you’re always part of the picture. We invite you to reach out, introduce yourselves, and let us know how we can help your child thrive during their time at UVA.

Warmly,
Rabbi Reuvi & Shani Mayer
