Chabad at UVA operates from two locations, each serving a distinct role in supporting Jewish life on campus. Both spaces are designed to provide an accessible, welcoming environment for students seeking connection, learning, and community.
Chabad on the Corner
17 Elliewood Avenue
Located next to Grit Coffee in the center of the UVA Corner
This location serves as the primary weekday space for learning and informal engagement. It is open to Jewish students 24/7 and provides a comfortable setting for both individual and group interaction.
Students can expect:
A comfortable place to stop in, talk, and spend time
Snacks and drinks available, with fresh baked goods from time to time
Occasional classes and informal learning opportunities
Chabad on Alderman
2014 Lewis Mountain Road
Located just off Alderman Road, within walking distance of first-year residence halls
Chabad on Alderman serves as the central hub for communal programming and larger gatherings. It is the primary location for Shabbat meals, holiday celebrations, and community events.
Students can expect:
Weekly Shabbat dinners and holiday programming
Group learning, volunteer opportunities, and community events
Home-style meals in a warm and welcoming environment
